Kirsten has practised predominately in litigation and dispute resolution and has over 16 years in assisting clients with recovering their debts and settling matters on a commercial and prompt basis.
She has worked on matters ranging from minor debt collection, appearing in QCAT and Magistrates Court regularly, to extensive and complex matters in the District and Supreme Court jurisdictions and frequently in the Federal Court. She has an incredible breadth of knowledge from working on novel test cases to the daily bread and butter of insolvency, franchise disputes, body corporate matters (for and against) and even for (and against!) the ATO.
Kirsten has worked in boutique law firms, mid-tier, government and as an in-house contractor where she added value by relying on her wide-ranging experience and International Business degree qualifications.
As Principal Advisor in our Disputes Team, Kirsten’s major strength is in helping people find commercial and sensible solutions to overcoming their legal problems. There are often several avenues which can be pursued, but Kirsten enjoys the challenge of taking matters from point A to point B (being settled!) as quickly and sensibly as possible, with the focus being on what is best for the client personally and for their business. While it is generally always better to settle a matter and avoid the stress and cost of litigation, Kirsten is just as willing and able to take your matter all the way through to a trial if necessary and considers a court room her second home.
Kirsten has a particular passion for mentoring and ensuring balance in the profession and knows the daily juggle of professional and personal family life, whilst maintaining a sense of perspective and humour.
